On the 14th and 15th of November 2024, Hopefront Foundation held its largest health outreach event to date in the Spintex community of Accra. Over the course of two days, a dedicated team of volunteer healthcare workers — including doctors, nurses, and community health workers — provided free medical screenings to more than 200 children.

Children were screened for a range of conditions including malnutrition, anaemia, skin conditions, eye and ear problems, and general developmental concerns. Every child who attended received a full checkup at no cost to their family. Where concerns were identified, parents were given clear guidance and referral letters to specialist care.

This event was made possible by the generosity of our donors and the selfless dedication of our volunteer healthcare team, many of whom took time away from their own practices to serve. We are deeply grateful to every one of them.

For many of the children seen over those two days, this was their first medical checkup. That simple fact is both humbling and motivating. There is so much more work to do — and we are committed to doing it.
